The Hotel sits at
kilometer 60.5 (37.5 miles) on the Pisac Urubamba highway, in the
district of Huaran, next to the Urubamba River, in the
Province of Calca. It is 50 minutes by automobile from Cuzco. It is
at an altitude of 2800 meters (9599 ft) above sea level. It is part
of a valley
that constitutes the main avenue where roads, rivers and diverse
cultural styles converge.
During the inca period. Calca was an important population center, an
important administrative center. evidenced by the impressive Pre
Hispanic
walls thoroughout the streets and town plazas as well as the
impressive nearby archeological monument Juchúy Qosqo. You can also
see the
glacial peaks Pitusiray and Sawasiray giving origin to the wonderful
legend of Pitusiray.
